Welcome to Mayalu
From a personal journey to Mayalu, curating inspired flavors, creating space for connection & celebration.

Our Story
Mayalu began as a personal journey — from someone who barely drank coffee to a space where every cup tells a story of culture, curiosity, and connection. The name itself is deeply personal: “Maya” is my mom’s name, and “Lulu” is my pet name for my daughter. Together, they became Mayalu, which means “sweetheart.” With roots in Nepal and experiences across multiple cities, I wanted to create a place that blends heritage with the influences of the world I’ve lived in. Mayalu is a reflection of that journey: thoughtful, evolving, and deeply personal.

Savor slowly. Be present. Let the moment nourish you.
Our Menu & Vision
Our menu is not only shaped by our Nepali roots, but by every place we have lived and every culture that has left its mark. It is born from the places I have lived, the cultures I have encountered, and the memories that continue to shape me. These experiences come together in thoughtful ways, giving life to each drink, pastry, and small bite. From deeply rooted Nepali chiya and chicken momo (dumplings) to flavorful Eggplant and cassava curry pastries, every offering reflects a journey of taste and identity. From design to drink, Mayalu continues to grow with us, evolving with purpose and inviting guests to come, enjoy, and connect.

Community & Growth
Mayalu is a community space. Through initiatives like the DSM Tea Festival and the Southside Sunday Market, we’ve created opportunities to connect, share, and celebrate together. This journey has brought me closer to myself and the community I love. Every day, Mayalu evolves, but one thing remains constant: our commitment to hospitality, integrity, and making every guest feel seen and valued. Luxury isn’t just what we serve — it’s how we make people feel.
Come explore Mayalu and become you.
